I have decided to take a plunge in the world of Blogs , yes thanks to couple of things that happened or made me do so...
First I listened to Kirubasankar on Radio FM yes while driving my car to office, and realised that the first time I read about blog was in the year 2002, through an article in The Hindu and wondered why not I also start blogging... The first blog I must have visited is that of Kiruba and today also i revisited his blog ..making a complete circle and decided to take a plunge..
Two things that would like to blog or write about is
Olympic Gold medal and an interesting video ( or an ad in the blog that I visited this evening ) that I saw and would want you all to see it and ..
Olympic Gold - Thanks to Abhinav Bindra , atleast we have Gold medal in our Olympics tally... I saw all the major TV channel Flashing news of Phelps.. his quest of 4th Olympic Gold in this Beijing Olympics and his total tally as it stands now ( not today ) is 11 Olympic Gold medals , a feat not achieved by any individual so far...
We were on top of the world on Monday when our own Abhinav Bindra bagged our first Olympic Gold and this was the first Gold medal won by an Indian in an individual event.. We were proud to be Indians and our day or even this season was made ... All across you see or wishing each other and felt proud for this moment of joy , thought flashed what would be the reaction of our country when a Indian has done something similar to Swimmer Phelps...ie bagging something similar to his feat of bagging 4 olympics Gold medal ... !!!!!!!! Just imagine...well ours is a success starved country in many areas and sports especially olympics is one of them..
I wish Phelps goes on to win all 8 gold medals this olympics and surpasses Mark Spitz record ( 1972 ) .. I am still wondering how this lad of 23 s able to do such a outstanding feat and now he is among the legends of Jesse Owens, Carl Lewis, Mark Spitz, Nadia.. ( I can only rem these names and sorry If i have left others ...) What would be the effect of Say Phelps speech or his visit to India with our athelethes / sports loving public.. the rub off effect would be phenomenal..
Just like say ATP ( Chennai Open ) we should also have various other international events so that we can watch these great in flesh and blood and the energy these sportsperson would bring to all of us ...
